Club History
| The Beginning
A group of children who agisted their ponies at the Warragul Equestrian Centre saw Drouin Pony Club having a rally one day there and asked if it is possible to form a Pony Club for them. Glen Geoghan whose daughter was at the Equestrian Centre brought this to the attention of Mrs Anne Middelton. Anne and Doris Ridett were asked if they would be interested in helping. A meeting was called for all interested parties. Zone representatives were notified and a meeting was held.

Thus the Lillico and District Pony Club was born in January 1997. The first president was Glen Geoghan, Secretary - Tina Wellar, Tresurer - Colin MacKay, with Doris Ridett taking on District Comissioner and Anne Middleton the Chief Instructor. On the left is a copy of an article from the Warragul Gazette (11/02/1997 - page 3). |
| The club began with 20 members and continued to grow. We now have 50 members and a waiting list, such is the popularity of our club. We are lucky as our club has the use of the Warragul Equestrian facilities including an indoor arena, an outdoor arena, Show Jumping and a cross country course. On the right is a photo of the members in 1997. |
